How not to display your fine art collections!

I recently visited a dear collectors home. She has a warm heart & obviously a warm hearth!

This art collector is not only special but also very dear to me.

I was happy to see my art displayed on the walls. But I could barely see the details & they were distant.

I am sure she hired someone to put up those pieces!

It was then I realized that displaying art itself is an artistic process in its own right!

Art is not only for decor, but a thought provoking, conversation starting subject.

When it is strategically placed in a particular way in a particular nook & with a certain group of objects, it totally changes the ambience of the space. When smaller & medium sized paintings are placed at eye level or lower, one can actually see the details, besides adding to the worth of the art itself it also contributes to the art collector's creativity as well!

So the art collector not only honors the artist by deciding collect their art & empowering the artist, they also become a part of the story by the way they decide to exhibit the collection in their home!

Another story with the same art piece!

Spectators who see the art also become a part of the story & the empowerment & the story goes on & on!

...and the story goes on!!!! We can create 100 plus stories with the same piece. But the difference between the first pic & the others is that smaller pieces should be hung at lower levels , at the eye level or even lower & closer. Grouping it with objects like a vase, a bouquet, certain artifacts, tells a story visually. This starts a conversation about not just the art piece but the art collector becomes the story teller and that's the power of the collector! 😊
