                      ARTIST STATEMENT

I create large-scale, colorful, emotionally charged paintings that explore the human psyche's journey thro struggle towards resilience.  As both a psychiatrist & mixed media artist, my work lives at the intersection of emotional survival & transformation.

My paintings are not meant to soothe-they are meant to awaken. Through bold mark-making, layered textures and saturated color, I translate inner experience into visual form: tension & release, rupture & repair, chaos becoming coherence.

I am deeply drawn to the language of resilience. Each canvas becomes a record of endurance - a space where vulnerability evolves into strength & hope emerges not as fantasy, but as something earned. The scale of my work reflects the magnitude of healing itself.: expansive, immersive & impossible to ignore.

My process is physical, intuitive & emotional. I use mixed media, sometimes collage for texture, I scrape, build, stitch & disrupt the surface, allowing the painting to carry the imprint of survival & becoming. These gestures mirror the ways in which the mind & spirit moves through pain toward renewal.

Ultimately my work is a declaration of presence-a celebration of the human capacity to endure, adapt and rise.

                                ARTIST BIO

Dr. Nirmala Reddy Jetty is an Indian -born American -adult psychiatrist with a fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry as well who is also a mixed media artist. Her work explores the human psyche's journey through struggle toward resilience & transformation. Working primarily in large scale . she creates bold emotionally charged paintings that speak in the language of color, texture & movement.

Informed by her medical & psychological training her work is deeply rooted in emotional truth. Her process is intuitive & physical-involving layering, scraping, stitching, building & disruption - allowing each surface to carry the imprint of survival & becoming.  Saturated hues & expressive mark-making mirror the nervous system's passage through chaos, tension, release & renewal.

Dr, Jetty's paintings re not designed to soothe, but to awaken. They hold space for vulnerability to evolve into strength & for hope to emerge not as fantasy, but as something earned.
