Connecting blooms and butterflies with nature in my artwork involves exploring themes of growth, transformation, and the interconnectedness of living organisms. I had drawn inspiration from my flower garden, the intricate relationships between flowers, butterflies, and their natural habitats, highlighting the beauty and fragility of the natural world. I Incorporated elements such as textures, and vibrant colors which further emphasizes this semi abstract, floral painting, the connection which evokes a sense wonder.
Exploring the theme of movement in butterflies and flowers is captivating! The butterflies' graceful flight and the gentle swaying of flowers in the breeze inspired my artistic interpretations in this original painting filled with texture with acrylics, acrylic mediums on gallery wrapped canvas. I have also used oil pastels to bring out pops of color. Delving into topics like the anatomy of butterfly wings, the pollination process facilitated by butterflies, and the dynamic growth patterns of flowers added that depth to this floral painting.
The significance of an orange color background in this artwork evokes various emotions such as warmth, energy, and enthusiasm that I experience when I am in my garden that I work on. In the context of blooms and butterflies, this orange background symbolizes the vibrant energy of nature in full bloom, the warmth of the sun and the fiery transformation of a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis. I was tempted to add a dynamic contrast to the softer hues of flowers and the delicate wings of butterflies with oil pastels. The movement and energy of the butterflies are represented by the brown & white swaying lines by throwing the paint on the sandy textured orange background.
I enjoyed the whole process connecting my garden with my painting through my brush strokes. Visually & tactically, one can see & feel the physicality of my brush strokes.
